Words of motivation for a physics student?

My teacher give crappy lecture; he go over so many thing at once, and he doesn't give enough time for me to absorb lessons. I technically have to self-study the course. And physics isn't a very attractive thing to study at times..Any tip, advise, motivational speech?

I’m in the same position as you -_- My teacher sucks at lecturing and she does not collect the homework because it’s worth 0 points. I stopped doing my hw. Now I’m trying to self-study AP Physics C instead of AP Physics B because B covers too many topics. I’m praying so I can get a better teacher once I get to college and self-study Physics over the summer with some books that I bought.

If you’re in physics AP, Walter Lewin’s lectures on MIT courseware can be helpful and very entertaining.

Thank you, keep on fighting!

I’m actually self-studying AP Physics this year. It’s a bit of an odd situation - I’m enrolled in the class but can’t actually take it due to a scheduling conflict, so I teach myself the material and take all the tests.

What I do is this: I read all the relevant sections in a book and do example problems, checking my work as I go. If I don’t get something right away, I’ll typically watch a Khan Academy video - they’re fairly short and dense, and Sal is totally brilliant. I also LOVE Lewin’s OCW videos - he’s an incredible teacher. There are plenty of videos online, which I highly recommend. For me, it’s much easier to grasp something when I see it done in front of me, you know? Beyond that, I just do the bookwork problems and check my answers after I finish each one (work is most productive when you get immediate feedback).

Good luck! :)
