Does anybody have any final words of wisdom as most of us applicants submit our applications?
One thing I read on another thread was this quote:
“Boarding schools aren’t everything”
If you don’t get in, you still have fantastic options all around you. Boarding school doesn’t guarantee anything. Just applying, you have gone through so much that most people your age wouldn’t even think of. Be proud of yourself guys/gals!
lmao we’re in this together. don’t hesitate to send me a pm!
Words of wisdom:
- Proof Read your essays.
- Make a hard copy of every essay and hard copy of every application before you press send.
- Realize that in life there are some things you can’t control - like the decisions of a BS.
- For some people on CC (parents and students), this might be the first time someone says “no” to you. It’s OK.
- Parents: Don’t take your worry/anxiety/own issues of self worth out on your kid.
- Parents: Don’t get wrapped up into your kids experience. This is about them - not you. Be mindful of your reactions, your expectations, and your neuroticism @ March 10th.
- Cherish the next couple of months with your family. After March 10th, time goes by quickly and then you are off!
We’re all in this together, once we know, that we are, we’re all stars
lol, I couldn’t help myself ;
ANNND WE SEE THAAAT
highkey about to binge all 3 right before m 10
@YoungThriver @ladycosmos
I’m gonna stop being all “mature applicant” for a second and tell you about post-rejection, sad, vulnerable, desperate me last year just after M10… I watched this series called ‘Greenhouse Academy’ on Netflix because I sooo wanted my taste of boarding school. The show itself is kind of meh, but still fun to see if you like Boarding School. It just has an unnecessarily unreasonable plot imho.
@coppii I read the synopsis and it reminds me of House of Anubis.
Thanks for the suggestion.
@coppii Love that show… still waiting for a third season!!
On the topic of rejections, I’ll admit that I haven’t gone through the experience myself (yet), but I would say @YoungThriver if you get rejections try to focus on the future- boarding school isn’t the only path to success, so while binge-watching boarding school shows may be fun, trying to focus on your future at a local school may help even more. Just my humble opinion.
@ThatScorpio Thank you for your humble opinion. It’s greatly appreciated
@ThatScorpio Easier said than done… last year, I had almost no chance of getting in, but I was sure God would play his hand and I would…I was sure that’s what I needed. Now, as far as I can tell, I’ve got a decent shot. But I’ve already coped with staying home. I have a feeling I’m going to have a pretty tough decision to make come M10.
@coppii @YoungThriver any chance y’all wanna binge that over rabbit the week before to take our minds off?
@ladycosmos Binge Greenhouse Academy show? LOL
@coppii really considering it lmaooo
No shame there @ladycosmos
Greenhouse Academy is great
