Have you asked your parents if they’re willing to give you the money they’re willing to invest in a horse? Maybe they mistakenly think you need your own horse for your degree.
Are there less expensive schools you could attend? If finances are an issue, I’d investigate other options.
Transferring could actually cost me more due to the public universities having little to offer in transfer scholarships. They also don’t have as much experiential learning in their equine program as my current university, and since I’ve never had a horse before, experience is paramount. My grandmother sent me $2,000 which is to be used to purchase a new horde though.
You said it costs over $1200/month to train/keep a horse. If you can’t pay for college, what good is the experience of owning a horse? There isn’t anyone on campus who would let you share in the care if their horse?
You need to go speak to a school counselor. So many of your plans/actions fail to consider proper priorities. Scholarship and college first, a job that will not ruin your ability to go to school if your family will not support you but will provide money for a horse.
