Thanks all so much! There are so many great ideas here. I was going to get her something for her birthday next week but now I think I’ll hold off and talk to her about it. All the interviews have been done virtually so she’s not totally sure what the environment is like. Once she gets back from Spring Break and things settle down I’ll suggest she chat with her supervisor about the environment a little so she knows more about what to expect (and so we can buy clothes).

Just saying… That looks like the kind of bags my kid finally took to Goodwill. 
I think the tide is changing… timbuk2 and that sort of funky stuff is out.
I love those bags! I’m glad Fanny packs have made a comeback. They are handy.
The larger backs are cute too and sound vey durable.
