Hi! I am a finance major and I do not have work experience at all. Also, I am a senior and applying for colleges at the moment. Would I be able to get into MBA program, like at University of the Pacific in Stockton, california? thanks in advance

gurl588, do you mean you are a senior in college and applying for MBA programs now?
Let me emphasize that without any work experience, even if you get into an MBA program, your degree won't help you find anything more than an entry level job. In other words, you will be wasting time and money.

So, that means that majoring in finance, was a waste of time? I haven't taken any of my finance courses, yet. I was planning to change my major to entrepreneurship and take science pre-requisite courses to apply to medical school or apply to law school. Can you give me some advices, please. thanks in advance.

Please explain your present status. Are you in college? or in high school? Are you in the US?

I am a senior in college and live in the U.S.

so when you say you are "applying for colleges at the moment", do you mean

you are applying to jobs

you are applying to graduate / professional schools

you are applying to transfer
?

The answer is probably moot. Any MBA worth having will require or strongly, strongly encourage you to have work experience before accepting you. The value you get out of an MBA is usually proportional to the amount of interesting work experience you've had up until that point, because it teaches you how to understand situations you've already come across, as well as giving you an extra qualification to get a job coming out of business school - but employers want MBAs who've been around the real world, not rank amateurs. ~1% of harvard B-school's class every year comes straight from undergrad.

I am planning to apply to graduate school. I was thinking of going into law or something else, but still stick with the finance major. Would that be a good idea? Since I do not have work experience, but have volunteered, would that still help me? thanks a lot in advance.

gurl588, I think you seriously need to make a trip to see your academic adviser as soon as possible If you are a senior and haven't taken any classes towards a major yet, you need advice, not from us online but from your college adviser. Before considering grad school options, you should make sure you can graduate with enough credits.

get a job.....then go and get your MBA

Lawl^^ .
