Work Experience for Highschool

Does internship or some kind of work exp. look good for Highschool? As i am a junior and going to do some sort of internship for business and marketing under Citi Bank i believe? Not sure where but some top business.

Will this be a HUGE plus when applying to business schools? Or just an ordinary thing?

Anyone have prior exp. with internship in highschool?

THANKS ALL

work/internship experiences are always good things to have. It shows them (adcoms) that you are not only capable of doing school work, but also that you can be successful career-wise also. It can also show your initiative and your passion for business (or insert subject here).

It won’t necessarily be a huge plus by itself. More than likely, it’ll just be a great supporting experience to supplement your college application. Maybe you’ll be able to write a great college essay out of the experience, or have your co-worker or boss write you a terrific recommendation for college/another job/a scholarship. Just make sure this job/internship isn’t all you ever do.

I had a part-time job with a driving school as a secretary (due to my dad working there). I got an internship with the local World Affairs Council because I was very interested in international relations. (both still ongoing)These previous experiences not only were enjoyable, they also helped me get a real, official job/paid internship with the state government (I’m a senior in h.s.). And they can only help you get further in college when applying for other jobs/internships/work-study programs (even if they are not always pleasant).
