<p>I’m not sure. I do work as a tennis coach, which goes along with one of my ECs, being part of the school tennis team. </p>
<p>Are you on the swim team? Or do any swimming competitions outside of school? You might be able to list it there.</p>
<p>Obviously, jobs such as “Burger Flipper” at McDonalds wouldn’t merit much of a boost to your app.</p>
<p>Well this year on the common app you can consider a job that you have to be an “extracurricular”. And by that I mean that since they’ve combined the work experiences and EC’s you could rank your job as the thing you’re most interested in.</p>
<p>Even a job like “burger flipper” is probably worth mentioning if you do it frequently, though. It’s not about impressing them with your job skills; it’s more of a time-committment thing, and could potentially explain why you have fewer other activities if your family needs you to work, etc.</p>
