Hey, as I have a work grant built into my financial aid package, I am planning on using the job as my source of spending money while at school. From those of you who have experience with this, will the roughly $800/semester work grant be enough to cover my daily expenses (groceries, extra food, recreation, etc.) or should I plan on needing to have extra money periodically sent to me from home? Also, how soon will I be able to begin working/receiving a paycheck from Duke? I'm figuring at least a month or two after Aug. 22 until I actually start gettin paid (correct me if I'm wrong, I just would think it would take a while to find a job, apply, get the job, work, and finally receive a paycheck). In this case, how much extra dinero did you guys bring to get you through your first couple of months?
