Work load/average number of hours for a Tulane Business School Student

I am trying to get an estimate of the work load/average number of hours for a 15 credit workload. I know their are a lot of factors but I understand students will spend about 15 hours in class. How much additional study and homework time does the typical student spend?

@collegedaughters The answer to that is very subjective based on the particular courseload that semester and on the grades the student desires to achieve. Figure anywhere from 0-3 hours of study/work outside the classroom per credit hour.

Consider school your full time job- you should be devoting 35-40 hours/week on academic activities- including class time.

@collegedaughters to give you a general idea, each credit is approximately 1 hour of lecture( usually in reality a bit less). You should study 1-2 hours for every credit you take, plus hours in class. I’m currently finishing up freshman year, and it really depends on your aptitude, I for instance went to a high school in Italy that is way harder than American high schools, and I’m pretty easily managing 18 credits. You have to get over the initial impact of college and you should be fine
