Hi, im having a 5 day job period (catering management - but really just a steward) now and i was wondering if i should ask for a recommendation letter or not from the employee. He definately seems very nice but will it help in my app process?

If he can add something new, have him write a rec. If it won't add anything valuable do not send one.

Not about the OP, but why do people think that a bunch of extra recs increase chances?

because when adcoms hear other ppl saying great stuff about you, it sounds more credible than when you write that in essays or something. so kids figure the more adults writing abt me, the better!
but thats not usually true when it comes to college admissions.

and sometimes, teachers have less to say than ppl that have seen you done other, better work in other areas of your life.

What if i have a good impression on the employer so i can basically tell him what to say. Will this be beneficial to me? I REALLY WANT TO GO TO PENN! WHOO!

ok thats just dishonest

Actually in school, some teachers do ask about what you want them to write in the recs. But thats only some!

For application, everyone will be a little bit dishonest, admit it. Adcoms know that too. I mean you will not actually lie but you will misinterperate things right?
