Work + School + Family, how do you do it?

I have been working at my current job for a total of 7 years. It's a full time job, 40+ hours a week, benefits, vacation, sick time, 401K, all the good stuff. My first semester I only took two classes, both of which didn't interrupt my day at work. Working Mon-Thurs 6am-4:30pm.

I am now starting my second semester on the 26th, and will be working Mon-Fri since many of my classes cut into my work day, so I need to make up the hours as much as I can. I will only be hitting, at the most, 34 hours a week. I can't really take the cut, but I stashed away leftover financial aid from last semester to help along with this semester, so it shouldn't be much of an issue as far and money goes... I hope.

On top of working and school I'm also in a strong relationship (been together for 7 years) with a girl who I absolutely love to death, and I live with her and her daughter. I love to spend time with them, and understand I wont be able to spend as much time with them with my busy schedule.

Just curious if there are any others out there with this situation, and how you do it? Maybe I'm just overly worried about it since I'll be tackling 34 hours of work, 12 credit hours, and a family.

Sleep? We don’t need no stinkin sleep. :)

Luckily I already have the no sleep portion of this plan down pretty good.

I’m not working right now because I’m on temporary disability from my job that may become permanent. However, I do have 4 kids and a fianc

In all seriousness, I have some adult students in your situation, and they consciously decide to let some things go. I had a fellow last spring, for example, who could easily have earned a strong A in the class, but because of his conflicting obligations chose to put family time ahead of study time and was happy with his B+. Sometimes “good enough” is what you settle for.
