Work-Study n Loans

I have accepted my financial aid offer, and it said for work-study if undecided to accept it neways. So that means I'll be able to refuse work-study later rite?My question is:Should I accept work-study?Somebody told me that you earn more if u work as a non-work study student and that your better off without work-study.Is that true? Are there any significant advantages/disadvantages of takinf work-study?

Also do you HAVE to take out the Stafford and other loans NOW (or be4 college starts) or can u just take it through the course of the year(whenever the need for $$ arises?
Thanx.

(10 char)nebody?

You should accept work study because it would be easier to find a job on campus and off campus if you had work study.
Do you know why on Pan I had work study but on my official there is none?
How do you know if the process is done?

You can only accept or decline if they have the word select next to it right???

Did u get slected for verification?coz if u did then the changes could be done after they looked at ur and ur family's tax returns.

The process is complete once u accept whichever awards u wanna n then complete the process upto the confirmation pagE(which u shud also print out)

Yes u cann accept o decline only if the button is there next to it,but if u hv sumthin lyk a grant which is already confirmed, the accept/decline option wont b there,as theyve already confirmed it for u(so ur gettin it definitely),n if u r not eligible 4 a particular award, say work-study,then it will not appear AT ALL on ur official award,so the question of the accept/decline thing doesn't arise.

Thank you very much!!!!!

Wud u know if the pay is same(or more) if ur a work-study student vis a vis a non-work-study student?

Work study means you have an opportunity to work off part of your tuition costs. In most schools work study eligble students are placed frist for jobs. You can elect work study and not do it, do all of it or part of it. The bill is the bill, if you want to only work half the amount needed, you still have to come up with the rest. I am not sure if schools have two different pay scales for work study/non work study employees. Pay scale is usually established for the particular job.

You may be forgeting another aspect of work study. It is another way to meet people you didn't know before so you should consider that in the mix.

Ok thanx that was really helpful.
