Work study? Possible to get it raised?

I got 3k workstudy total (1.5k winter and 1.5k fall). How many hours a week do you think I'd have to work a week (this is assuming I attend Umich ann arbor)? I haven't looked at the jobs at umich yet.

Also, does anyone know if I can get the 3k limit increased?

Anyone who's already going to school, whats the most you've been able to make working while maintaining good grades?

Thanks a lot!

Usually a school has a limit on work study, particularly for the freshman year. That does not mean you couldn't work another job, if you have time.

schools usually have limits on what they give to students. you could always get a second job that isn't work study to help you. Personally, I've always worked two jobs while in college, one work study and one not. Pulled off 35 hours a week one semester...wouldn't recommend that though...25 was the most I could ever really do without feeling dead at the end fo the day (that doesn't include travel time since I've always worked off campus)

$3000 is not bad

The most I can get for my first year of work-study is $900.
As for how many hours, check your school's financial aid website. Usually you get paid around minimum wage so if it's not listed, you can figure it out from that.
