Does anyone have the option to accept a work study program on the UC Davis MyAwards page, because I am unable to locate it on my financial aid page. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Were you offered work study? Like grants, scholarships and subsidized loans, I believe work study is something you must be offered by the financial aid office.

Assuming you were offered a work study award, I believe there should be something you click to accept it - and there should be something you can print out to give to your on campus employer to fill out. Work study is something you can accept even if you aren’t sure if you’ll be using it (by finding employment on campus). So you might as well accept it.

I received financial aid such as a scholarship and a couple of loans; however, I was not offered anything like a work study award. Is it something that is offered to everyone?

Work study is offered to you based on financial eligibility

I heard that freshmen don’t get work study. Plausible, since my efc is very low and I don’t have work study.

I thought work study was listed under “Student Self Help Expectation”?

No, “Student Self Help Expectation” is considered a “Contribution” and is under the “Contribution” section. I’m not entirely sure, but I believe that is the amount the university expects you to pay out of your own funds/savings.

Work Study - if it is offered to you - is considered “Aid” and appears in the same section which includes grants, scholarships, and loans.
