Does anyone else have to do work study? For those who attend Princeton, does it cut into your academic/social life at all?

My financial aid package says I have to, but I think I'll just work this summer to cover those costs.

I'm doing work study... I think it actually sounds like a good way to meet people when I get there... also, I think that having some sort of menial task would be a good incentive to study harder...

Virtually all freshmen who do work study are initially assigned to dining services, which is indeed menial work. Once on campus, you can try to find yourself a better job. After freshmen year, I believe you have to find your job, you are not assigned one. My child did find it an imposition on his/her time and found another way to make some money instead of doing work study.

yeah, working for dining services sucks. I'd recommend looking for a job elsewhere, like with the U-store, public safety, a department, a library or something.

no work study for moi. I guess this post is pointless, then.
