so when and how do students at penn usually apply for work-study jobs? and do they usually receive the entire work-study award by the end of the school year? meaning, if your work-study award is 2600 a year, would it work out that you get paid an hourly wage that would that accumulate to 2600 till the end of the job?

You can look at all work study job listings on the web, you can down load the application form you can phone/email or snail mail any job and request an interview........it is just like getting any job. You will get paid weekly or so and you will get an hourly wage. The money is paid to you directly and you will be able to earn up to the amount of your award. The wages are for your own spending on whatever you deem necessary.

so. when do people usually start applying for one? before school begins or right after? and could you kindly provide the website?

It's possible to find jobs well into the semester, even in the middle of it. Many of the good ones are taken during orientation and the first weeks of school.

Some students line up a job before they leave campus other students line up interviews before they arrive on campus and yet others begin their search when they arrive for NSO.

thank you for the website.
