Working a job while at JHU

Is it possible to do well at hopkins and work a job (approx. 10 hr./week at a place about 40 min away from JHU)?

Adria0: Ten hours/week is nothing, really. There are lots of students who work far more than that. Also, athletes, actors, etc., put in many more hours.

This discussion thread should help provide additional student input about working while attending Hopkins:

I am curious … will you be a new freshman at Hopkins? If so, how will you be getting to this job that is 40 minutes away. Be aware that freshmen can not have cars while at Hopkins. Is there a reason why you must work at a job 40 minutes away. There are more than enough part-time jobs one can find either on-campus or very close to campus.

Yes, I am an incoming freshman. I didn’t even think about the whole transportation thing, though! I live about 40 minutes away from Baltimore (DC), and I want to keep my job.

I guess I was just curious to see if kids at JHU are able to squeeze it in. Thanks for the links!

i wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone else had any more input…thanks
