i wanna probably ultimately work somewhere outside of the U.S. like China (one, b/c i'm a native speaker. two, b/c the dollar currency is 7.56 times higher than the yuan currency).

is there any major/job/career i should pursue in order to do that?
should i go into college majoring in something like international relations, econ, finance,...? i mean i don't know what these majors lead to in the real world or what kind of occupations their graduates hold

Firstly, I would not base your decision off of the currency exchange rate. Although it is currently pegged there is pressure for the U.S. to counteract such an artificial rate. Assuming that does not happen there is a good chance that this artificial exchange rate will cause the Chinese economy to overheat and enter into a bitter recession. (Source: for item 1. Cato.org 2. Business Week Podcast). However, if you have your heart set on China I would look into working through a U.S. multinational. To your main question, in business your major is unlikely to really shut doors (with exceptions) on where you can work. In general, what you major in in business is only important during your first few jobs. However, that is not to say that having a finance degree won’t help you in finance more so than a international relations degree.
