Working as a Freshman?

Hey,

I want to maintain as high a GPA as possible freshman year (4.0 is the goal, not saying anything about whether or not its possible at ND), and go to parties and play sports etc. I don't NEED to work, but I do have a cool-ish job offer that's 4-6 hours a week, working from my computer to set up this Notre Dame thing's facebook and twitter (its a Notre Dame job, not an outside one). I don't know if this is a bad idea, it seems fine (I mean, come on, 4-6 hours at my own schedule?) and most people from my school who've gone to top 20 schools (50/100 person grade) report back saying that they end up having loads of free time freshman year, even with getting a high GPA. Any personal input on whether or not its a bad idea?

Like I said, I just want a little pocket money, but I don't do it if it even has any effect on my academics.

Thanks!

You definitely have time for this job. It’s less than an hour a day. Take it.

thanks a ton!

what about a job closer to 10-12 hours a week thats work study? as an incoming freshman engineer do you think that would be manageable?
