Are businesses allowed to pay you below minimum wage (if you agree to it), or would that be illegal?

yeah. i worked for 6 months at 5.15/h. Or maybe that is minimum wage. Whatever. At any rate (pun intended), the job sucks. Pay your dues, go ahead. I am a big supporter of sucky first jobs. But, after that, if your employer doesn't see you worthy of decent pay, the job isn't worthy of you.

it is illegal but if both of you know whos going to say anything?

Waitresses can be, if it is expected that tips they get will put them over the minimum wage. I knew someone who was paid $3.50 an hour, because it was "calculated" that they would get at least $2 in tips an hour, putting them over the minimum wage at the time

Waitresses are paid like 2.15 an hour sometimes.

yeah... i forget what thats called... also, there is a plan (501 plan? not sure) where teenagers don't get checks, but get money put in a college savings account.
