Is it possible for F1 (international) students to work off-campus? The reason I want to work off-campus is because I heard that it's hard to find a job on-campus (at my future University, at least), and even if you do happen to find one, they pay crap.

I know there's a way to apply to this, but to me it seems unfair that you need to go through a lot of paper work just to make a few bucks, althought I'd appreciate it if anyone tells me what papers need to be filed and the exact steps.

From the regulations on my F1 visa, it says that I can't absolutely make any money in the US besides jobs on-campus. Does that mean it's illegle for me to sell anything on ebay!!? Is it illegle to be involved in a garage sale!!?

This is crap!!! I don't want to depend on my parents' money, I'm capable of making my own.

I already know that. Is my post unreadable!?
Read other parts of my post, wait, you don't seem to know what you're talking about, never mind, I'll wait for others to reply.

That's what I'm saying, it's not just about working, but if the regulations claim you can't make any money in any way, then that means you can't get a cc, you can't sell on ebay, you can't do a whole bunch of crap that normal people do every day.
They want international students to be leechers and live as poor mother f----rs.

oh, I thought you can get a credit card anyway. My sister isn't working and she still got a Master. And with a F1, you definitely can't work offcampus during the academic year.
