I know that internationals can work for 20 hrs per week on campus when college is in session. However, i also happened to read somewhere that intls. are not allowed to work fulltime during summer holidays. is it true?
Are there opportunities for summer internships for internationals in the US??

Yes, as long as you've already been here for a year and it is part of your major, you can work off-campus and have the work classified as training.

You can pursue an internship during summer here in US and/or abroad on F1-visa. You are best consult with intl student office asap to make sure you get the right paperwork in order.

Take advantage of the campus recruiting effort (note: it's a bit late now for this summer) during Fall or early Spring. If you don't have any meaningful work experience now, seek an internship with a firm with a global brand recognition in your home country. That will help you getting a US-based internship later.
