Working/Interning at local bank build experience?

I am a high school senior. I-banking might be something i want to get into. Does working/interning at a local bank help on the resume? or build any skills related? I really need something to do during summer. Any suggestions?

bump.........i'm planning to work at either wamu or bofa as a teller...

is it easy to get a job as a teller?

Not really... maybe at a Commercial Bank -- not teller station, yes. But customer service always helps. Try to get into a HS internship at an asset management firm.

like what kind of firms?

<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Investment_management#10_largest_asset_management_firms%5B/url%5D">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Investment_management#10_largest_asset_management_firms</a></p>

those firms doesn't seem any easier to get into than i-banking firms.

A Legg Mason (AM) type or a Scott Trade (retail broker) type would be a good bet.

good luck at Legg Mason, I called them and they said they only want college juniors

Heh depends on what office. Regional ones are much more lax. They're losing tons of money anyway after their acquisition.

^maybe true
I live in Baltimore, where their headquarters are located

well, i live in a small university town, i don't think they have a regional office here
