I'm not sure if this is in the right place, but does anyone have any suggestions as to how to gain muscle weight? Like what workouts I should do? Actually, in better terms--which workouts have worked for you in gaining muscle? I'd like a gain muscle weight, not fat.
Thanks.

I hear that eating a lot of protein helps, and running most certainly helps, along with weight training/lifting.

Har har. Thanks. I've heard that too, and since I really love running I'll do that more often.
I ought to be asking this on a health forum, but I want to see what you guys say. :)
Keep it coming.

Ok, start with exercies that work lots of muscles and then concentrate on individual muscles. Do Cario to lose weight, lift to put it back on. Make sure you eat right. I'm on the don't touch anything you ate when you were 8 diet.

Lol if I lost weight I'd be waayyy underweight. In fact, I need to gain weight. Muscle weight.

Looks like it's time to resurrect my weights from the dead. How many lifts do you do a day, and how heavy are your weights?

Believe it or not, this forum actually has some pretty good advice.

In general though, to gain muscle weight you'll want to eat a good supply of lean protein (turkey, chicken, fish, etc.). Make sure that you're workouts are varied by muscle groups, so that you're not working out the same muscles each day. Additionally, if you want to lose fat, make sure you keep up some good cardio that you enjoy (running, soccer, cycling, etc.).

If you have a fast metabolism, you should not be worried about gaining fat. Also, unless you are on anabolic steroids or your have freaky genetics, you really shouldn't work out more than 4 or5 days a week, especially if you are a beginner. Working out tears down muscle tissue, so recovery is the most important aspect of muscle building. Make sure that you are eating plenty of calories (healthy complex carbs and healthy omega- 3 fats), and eat at least one gram of protein per pound of bodyweight. Like zpmqxonw said, make sure you work out bodyparts on different days, and i would recommend training each bodypart only once a week for strength and size gains.

www.hmsports.net is a great site for this.

I recommend getting Kelly baggett's vertical jump bible. It says it's for helping you leap higher, but it also helps you develop better strength, explosiveness, and overall fitness.

Running on days you don't do lower body lifting can also help keep you in good aerobic condition ;)
