Working the SAT...

Ok, so this person I know took the SAT and got a 2260- 800 CR, 690 Math and 770 Writing. She then took it again and scored in the 700's in the math as an improvement, but didn't even take the English parts, and got ~300's in them. Will colleges look at this with disdain, or is it viewed as acceptable to work over the SAT like this?

i guess its fine to apply to private schools, but i think its better to at least make an effort on the other 2 sections

Yeah. I guess it just bothers me personally.

That's pretty stupid.. I'd feel a little funny about this kid if i were an adcom

..As an adcom I'd be 1) disappointed that the kid wasn't interested enough to actually do the whole test, 2) would wonder if that general attitude ( not saying this person has one, but the adcom might see it as that) would transfer to her university environment and affect those around her and their studies.

wait did she just sit there during the other sections?

^ Thats what I understood, what other reasonw ould there be for an 800V and 770W to suddenly drop to 300s on a retake.

Wow, talk about a giant mistake. Unless she's applying for a state school or something.

^Giant mistake. Period... how could she even think that was a good idea? Did she even think?......Honestly I think it will definitely hurt her.

^Agreed. Definitely.
