What are the chances of getting into an Ivy League with a 3.94 gpa in freshman year in the top 50 private schools. Taken two honors classes in freshman year and four honors classes now in sophomore year.

Taken the PSAT once with a score of 170.

It’s impossible to say until you’ve taken the real SAT after studying your butt off for it. I’m guessing the 170 really doesn’t represent your true potential.

All I can tell from that is that you are headed in the right direction. GPA is strong and PSAT/SAT score needs to improve, but a good score is reachable.

Think about what ECs will support you case for why they should choose you over other high GPA / high SAT candidates. You still have time to bolster those credentials at this point.

Any comments here are meaningless for a sophomore. All colleges in the “Top 20” are brutally selective. You can do everything perfectly and still be rejected. Just do well, and focus on the present.
