Workout

haha i started laughing when i read "no, i prefer curls"

Curl and Bench Work 2 totallllyyyyy diff muscles..if you had said no i prefer Dumbbell Bench Press or incline bench rather than standard bench press that would make sense...but you said something along the lines of

Op: Does anyone here bench press?
you: no, i prefer curls

thats like saying

OP: what kind of fruits do you like? Apples?
you: no, i prefer broccoli

You all suck. I have NO upper body strength whatsoever. I can't even do a pushup (yeah...).

But I bike (on a stationary bike, obviously since it's December in Michigan) about 11 miles a day.

I really oughta start working on upperbody...

I'm at 10 reps of 185. I'm 19, 6'2", and weigh 180 so it's not much for my age and size. I've been working out for over a year, but I haven't seen much progression because of random lapses between my workouts (college itself can be tiring sometimes). It's cool though I only want to get a little bigger.

The reason you bulked up and got stronger without working out is due to puberty. Most people naturally gain muscle, get taller, and fill out. Many chubby kids get skinny. This can continue until around 21 for some.

lol forgive my ignorance, so i better start working out after 21 or else I'll lose my muscle mass?

doubt anyone here would bench press, seeing how people here are more concerned with getting into ivy league schools and getting good grades than "exercise"

^^ lol same thing i was thinking

ChamilitaryMayne, just take protien? That should help you alot

Working out is only boring if you do it at low intensity. If you are working hard it should be boring.

I don't bench that much but I suppose my max is somewhere around 225-235. I try to do full body lifts as much as possible though.

If you're really trying to gain mass then look into Creatin. If you workout and drink water then you will gain plenty of mass.

"my max is somewhere around 225-235."

thats a very large assumption....lol

I used to do weights but since I started boxing it's all boxing specific work like heavybag, speedbag, etc. and calisthenics with a ****load of running.

Wow. Guess people really have nothing better to do these days. Anyone could tell you benching and curling are different...what's your point? I don't like to bench. Simple as that.

camarolover, i have always been interested in boxing, but for some reason i think the idea of constantly getting punched in the head will diminish my "smartness". i know its probably a little dumb, but does boxing have any adverse effects on the brain? or do you have to do it for a long long time for it to damage something (like the professional boxers who always seem to have some mental illness when they get older)?

congrats for being the biggest and baddest on cc!!!

no need to get hostile about lifting weights esp here

It's the steroids.

Lol relax hoo, we're just messing with you.

Only people on the thread who could bench me. lol

lol yea but supposing you could bench a certain weight is like me saying that i suppose i could run a marathon in 2 and half hours without ever training for it.

i love working out.

I'm a distance runner, and recently our coach had us start doing weight training.
It's kind of funny. We bench, well, only the bar, while the guys bench 200 next to us. It's a bit embarrassing, but, oh well. We're runners. =P

I NEED to run soon, though. I'm on vacation in NH, and there's been too much snow to run for the past two days. I have wayyyy too much energy, and I feel like such a fatass. Hehe.

My question: how to increase rate of metabolism. I exercise 4-5 days a week at the very least 30 minutes, but still I have the metabolism of a not-bird. I'd like to slim down, and cutting back doesn't do the trick entirely. If anyone has a tip on making metabolism faster, it would be appreciated :)

Kaznack, fartlek/HIIT in the morning and you will turn into calorie-burning machine.
