i was offered workstudy aid, im not really sure how it works, i do have a job but its off campus..have any of you guys done this, what do i need to do, how does it work...

you need to go to the https://www.fao.ucla.edu/wrkstd_student/default.asp website and search for workstudy jobs (most of them will probably be posted a little later in the summer though). then you do whatever you need to do to land those jobs, and then you work there.

it's just like a regular job. the only differences are, it's most likely on campus, and your employer only has a limited pool of money (the amount of work-study offered to you) to draw from to pay you. most of the work-study jobs are considered to be the better on-campus jobs.

do you get to keep half the salary, or does all your salary goes toward tuition?

ALL the salary goes to you (you'll get to pocket the entire amount of workstudy offered to you or however much you can finish working for). you get to do whatever you want with it, though technically you "need" the money for school expenses hehe.

the "half" thing that people refer to is that for your amount of workstudy offered, half of it is paid by the employer and half of it is paid by the federal government. you pocket all of it though.
