World Bachelor in Business Program 2019

Thread for applying 2019 WBB program

Hi all, I’m a current UK ‘high school’ college student who wants to apply for the WBB however it says I need to upload ACT or SAT scores which we don’t do in the UK so what should I do? I’ve emailed Universita Bocconi (which is where i’m applying through) however I wanted to know what past/current students have found out pls.

Any new WBB class of 2023 admits?

So I have a bit of a concern. My USC package said my major was “Business Administration” so I assumed I did not get into WBB, however, the portal today said my major was “World Bachelor in Business” I emailed my regional USC counselor, but, I am a bit confused. I assume this hasn’t happened to anyone else?

Check on page 2 of your packet under additional information section. Should be there, congrats on getting into WBB!

I was accepted too (according to online portal) but don’t know if I’ll attend because there’s so little information available on international logistics, financial aid, etc. and interviews from previous grads make it seem like it’s a headache to get through it…I kind of regret applying now @quantjock @tkdqueen035

Congratulations! The program is unique and sounds very impressive. Any current or former students on CC? Can someone explain their experience with the program so far? Is there more information or links for WBB? Daughter got the admission and she is beyond excited. But we are trying to get more details on the program. Also, any idea if anyone’s Presidential scholarship got bumped up to Trustee one?

@wbb2023 Sorry you are getting cold feet. The WBB Program is very unique and not for everyone. WBB students have to be willing to give up a classic 4 year college experience in order to enroll for their 2 years at business schools overseas. Our WBB student decided that experiencing studying business at HKUST & Bocconi and the internships and connections gained for those 2 years was an attractive alternative. The 2 years of travel to Hong Kong and Italy will of course involve some logistical and travel related juggling but that is inherent in a program like WBB. Each school and country will have different hoops that need to be jumped thru and that is part of the adventure involved with WBB! Go to Explore USC and ask questions. Everyone we met was very helpful.

Thank you. Are internships in summer and are they part of the program? Also, how about boarding and food? Is there a brochure or online link to learn more about it?

@AggieMom68 a quick Google search resulted in the following website: https://www.marshall.usc.edu/programs/undergraduate-programs/world-bachelor-business

The site seems pretty substantial to me, but I don’t know if it will answer all of your questions. There are also contact links to folks in the Marshall school who I’m sure could fill in the blanks.

@s0meUSCkid95 's link has a lot of good info. I’d also add that searching the website’s of HKUST and Bocconi would give valued info on dorms and food options. Keep in mind the WBB kids are enrolling as full time students at these institutions, not exchange, and they can be as fully immersed as they wish to be. Sports, Music, EC’s are all available and encouraged. The main difference is that the WBB kids move in a little early for orientation and team building and get a special advisor assigned to them from each school.

Thanks for the info. Is there a special orientation or information session or brochure available during Explore USC for the WBB kids?

Each school (including Marshall) has its info session during Explore. I am sure that they’ll talk about WBB and will be able to answer any/all questions at that time.

Thank you.

Hey, I was a part of the wbb class of 2022 in the fall, but took a semester away and so I’ll be joining the 2023 cohort in the fall

I can try and answer some questions

@uscsarah2023 Hi I’m a current student that applied to WBB but I wasn’t able to get a National Merit Scholarship. Would it be really rare for me to be accepted into the WBB program? Also, my academic profile is good but not great; I’m ranked in, the bottom of my classes top 10%. So, I was wondering how much merit comes to play into the admission of the WBB program.

Don’t worry if you didn’t get a major scholarship! Plenty of people in the program didn’t. You definitely need to have a good academic background but there are so many other factors that go into admission.

@roo1090

I was trying to PM the admits in this thread but for some reason I can’t send messages… so I guess I’ll just reply here. I really want to meet some other WBB people – haven’t talked to a single one yet despite all the group chats LOL

You have to have 15 posts to PM, although someone with more than 15 posts can PM you to get a conversation going.
