<p>I'm surprised that everyone's busy bickering about their opposite sex when the World Cup is almost here. Seriously? no soccer fans?</p>

<p>my friends and I agree that USA is going to get s*** housed and never make it out of the pool. The semis are going to include England, Brazil and Spain. Brazil is going to beat Spain and win the world cup, and England is going to lose out on penalty kicks HAHAHA.</p>

<p>I'd make a poll for who's going to win, but I don't know how.</p>

<p>no wait. I'm sorry, I actually think USA is going to do well. They did really well in the confederations cup last year</p>

<p>I am a very big world cup fan. England is always overrated however. It depends on who they play after winning Group G. I have Spain as the winners beating Brazil. </p>

<p>For upsets I have the Ivory Coast beating Portugal. Hate all you want, Africa is big on the world cup this year.</p>

<p>I never really care about upsets. I just love watching the powerhouses play each other. Why do you think Spain will beat Brazil? Don’t be ridiculous. USA beat Spain 0-2 last year. It was a terrible game by Spain, but still. Brazil let up their guard, gave up 2 goals, and came back with 4 unanswered goals. It’s Brazil…</p>

<p>USA will definitely make it to the round of 16, have you seen their group? They’ll finish second behind England then lose in the round of 16.</p>

<p>^ Yeah Algeria and Slovenia aren’t large enough forces to stop the USA. They will advance to top 16 and drop.</p>

<p>Am I the only one who thinks S.A. will be knocked out in the group stages? Everyone seems to be rating them so highly cause of the home advantage.
But they’ve been doing quite terribly in their friendlies.

  • They’re in the same group as France, Uruguay, and Mexico.
  • with McCarthy out of form they have no decent players beyond Pienaar and MAYBE Mphela</p>

<p>Yeah Ghana or some other African country will probably surprise everyone by kicking ass and taking names.</p>

<p>Also, is it just me or does anyone else find it odd that the two countries with a billion people, India and China, can’t produce a killer soccer team?</p>

<p>China’s woman soccer team is really good, even though woman’s sport is a freakin joke</p>

<p>playing soccer is actually looked upon in china. Because if you play soccer, it means you dropped out of school and have no other marketable skill. So that’d be why, we just don’t give a crap about soccer.</p>

<p>I have three nations that I think can win the whole thing:</p>

<li><p>Brazil: By far the strongest team. Have excellent players and mindset. I’d be surprised if they didn’t make it to the final.</p></li>
<li><p>England: England was always the team with amazing potential it never lived up to. But now, they’ve got Fabio Capello as manager. The guy is a legend. He can do anything he wants with any soccer team. That’s why England is a VERY strong contender for the title.</p></li>
<li><p>Italy: The world’s best defense. That’s gotta count for something. But I PRAY to God they don’t win!!! Can’t stand smug Italian supporters!!!</p></li>
</ol>

<p>I, on the other hand, will be rooting for Germany. They haven’t got the best chances (mostly young players, not much experience,) but I hope they give a good fight.</p>
