<p>Did anyone see Brazil v. Ivory Coast? What a pathetic display at the end when Kaka got that red card. The moron stumbled into Kaka with his chest then dropped to the ground clutching his face in agony. This is why most Americans hate soccer (and justifiably so). They’re all a bunch of huge pussies, rolling around on the ground as though they’ve been shot.</p>

<p>In 2002 Rivaldo was standing by the corner flag and motioned for the guy on the other team to kick him the ball (to take the corner). The other guy kicked it to him, and it hit Rivaldo in the knee. Rivaldo fell down grabbing his head and the guy who kicked it got a red card.</p>

<p>US should beat Ghana, hopefully. But France…that’s pathetic, they ruined a great chance for a dumb argument. Italy doesn’t deserve to advance which they didn’t. They started getting their act together in the final 10 minutes against Slovakia and they showed the world what they’re capable of…why couldn’t they have done that earlier? I’m glad they’re gone.</p>

<p>I now think Argentina is better than Spain. Both these teams have some of the world’s top offensive players. This is basically last year’s France, which made it to the finals but turned to ■■■ this year, as Zidane was not there to lead the team - he basically WAS the team. Argentina just seems like they’re on fire whereas Spain just doesn’t have the same flare.</p>
<p>Germany seems to be a very cohesive group that seems to be doing really well without captain Ballack. It’d be interesting to see ger v arg.</p>

<p>I think Germany v Argentina will determine one of this World Cup’s finalists. Netherlands v Brazil is another huge one. I think Spain is out in the semis even if Netherlands manages to “upset” Brazil. Ghana, Paraguay and Uruguay have heart, but lack the starpower that the foregoing teams all have. For any of them to win the whole thing would take something really special.</p>

Probable (i.e. expected) final: Argentina v Brazil</p>
<p>Winner: From my ideal final, I think the Netherlands would win, based on their experience relative to a young German team. Between Argentina and Brazil, could really go either way, but Brazil is simply the best in the world, so they’d be my pick.</p>
