World Cup 2014 @ Brazil

It’s too bad about Australia; they played really well

Also, I can’t believe Spain got knocked out so badly after 2010

@Apollo11 this is what happens when you put 11 players who are from 3 rivals of a countries first division. :(

@drexter‌ Totally agree. Not only that, the style of the three teams differ greatly, and making RMD and ATM players playing TikkiTakka? Bad move by Del Bosque. He should’ve realized after Barcelona and Bayern’s fall that Tikki Takka was slowly in its demise; proven by Spain’s run in this WC.

Australia 2 : 3 Netherlands
Australia fought really well. Cahill’s goal was :-bd
Netherlands however pulls through again with Robben+vPersie.

Spain 0 : 2 Netherlands
As talked about in above post, Tikki Takka is dead.
Costa couldn’t do anything; hes used to ATM style of futbol set by Simeone; not the Pep/DelBosque TikkiTakka. People say ESP wasnt even doing Tikki Takka b/c TT is supposed to help you get possession (56:44). The only reason why the ratio was so low was that Chile was pressuring ESP players in midfield so they couldn’t pass. All the spanish passes (even in front of the Chile goal) were back passes. Why!!!
well played Chile. congrats on RO16. The way that Spain played does not deserve a RO16 spot.
Note*: Spain being out of the WC screwed up 90% of people’s brackets.GG.

Cameroon 0 : 4 Croatia
One word: Mandzukic. Him being back in the CRO lineup made a huge diff.
Notes: Modric looks diff. w/o his long wavy hair (mmm the Tottenham days)
Alex Song: St*pid elbow. Automatic RC. [-X
Those two CMR players headbutting each other near the end: ??? ^#(^

TOMORROW:

Colombia vs Cote d’Ivoire
Tough match. Draw.

Uruguay vs England
Both are in desperate need for a win, and will come out offensively. Expecting another tie here. (High scoring one tho, 2-2 or 3-3)

Japan vs Greece
Tomorrow’s matches are all mediocre… sigh
Greece is old, so carefully expecting 1-0 Japan.

Uruguay vs. England is going to be fun.

I still don’t get the reasoning of playing Torres. he’s finished. and what’s the point of having 100% position if no one is going to use that?

today’s game is gonna be awesome though. either Uruguay or England is going out.

Dude I really think Colombia could win the World Cup. I love Côte d’Ivoire, and want an African team to go far, but I also love Colombia. If they lose, at least it’s to Colombia and not some cheap team like Russia

Oh my England…
The only chance for them to go on to RO16 is when
ITA 3 0 0
ENG 1 0 2
URU 1 0 2
COS 1 0 2
on goal difference… Has a team ever lost two matches in group stage and still went on to RO16?

Dang, that Uruguay vs. England game. Crazy.

I honestly think that England’s out at this point. The odds that they aren’t are SO small.

Honestly, England has a decent chance if Italy can beat both Costa Rica and Uruguay. England has a small chance of advancing, but it’s not astronomically small.

Chile drew 3 times in 1998 and advanced with 3 points. Not the same exact thing, but close.

Colombia 2 : 1 Cote d’Ivoire
The thing about the Ivory coast player’s father dying was a hoax. media these days -.-
but both teams played well
that Gervinho goal tho

Uruguay 2 : 1 England
Liverpool just destroyed England. GG.
Rooney was so happy about his goal ):
Suarez looked too in-form to be a player just out of surgery

Japan 0 : 0 Greece
One of the most boring matches (after Iran - Nigeria).
JPN had 550 ish passes, Greece had 140 ish. what is japan even doing. sigh
nothing else to talk about

TOMORROW
Italy vs Costa Rica
Let’s see how well Campbell will do against Pirlo and crew.
If Italy win, then all three (costa rica, uruguay, england) have a chance of moving on
group of death indeed

Switzerland vs France
Shaqiri is good, but does not make up for the firepower that Benzema and crew bring on

Honduras vs Ecuador
Ecuador will win.

@ekim5984 Liverpool destroyed the team? Did you watch them play this year?

it wasn’t Liverpool. it was a terrible coach who don’t even know where to play sterling at the first place. so did about Welback. the entire game came to life when Welback went off and Barkley came on. to be honest, that hodgepodge was never meant to be England coach. He sucked as Liverpool coach and he sucked as England coach. It seems to me that he can’t even cheer players up when they feel down.

And England has been eliminated. Costa Rica have officially won themselves a spot in the knockout round.

CONCACAF is doing well in the World Cup so far. The only team that’s actually lost a match so far is Honduras.

@drexter‌ when I said Liverpool destroyed England, I meant that Suarez (Who was the key man, no doubt, this season for Liverpool). Should’ve made myself clearer, sorry

Well, Ecuador came from behind to beat Honduras 2-1. That game was actually fairly entertaining. Costa Rica clinched a spot in the RO16 with a 1-0 win over Italy, and France continued their dominance of Group E with a 5-2 win over Switzerland.

This World Cup has been fun to watch so far! I’m not even a soccer fan (hockey fan over here), but I’m actually having a ton of fun just sitting down and watching the games.

@akacesfan‌ you should convert to being a soccer fan full time! It’s the greatest sport in the world!

Let’s hope that Germany puts Ghana away today and then we could finish Portugal off tomorrow.
