World History 2010 Exam

ugh do you think it’ll kill me if i mentioned legalism for the compare and contrast with han china but not confucianism?

the test was awful for me.
i studied a lot for 1750 onward, and most of the test seemed to be on 1450 and before.
our school doesnt offer ap world, and the honors world history is divided into two- east (freshman) and west (sophomore). a few kids from honors are taking the ap test (including me) but I was at a disadvantage because I had to study east by myself (unsuccessfully :frowning: )
in addition to the mc, all three essays were on east… bleh.

for the dbq my groupings were
treatment of women
production increase
economy
the additional document was a firsthand experience of an indian worker…

for the cc, i completely bs-ed everything.
i did south africa-
tribal religions ->
colonization/imperialism/scramble for africa = spread of christianity
trade routes = spread of islam
um yeah, idk.
it was 1.5 pages haha

for the ccot- also bs
i did mauryan/guptan and roman
continuity- uh, theyre both large.
they both expanded.
they both lasted long, and left lasting impacts.
change-
i compared rome’s political turmoil
to ashoka maurya’s policies of nonviolence

HAHA ^that is not a joke, i really didnt know anything.

i’m truly just hoping i didnt get a 3,
and if its awful, i can just hide the score.
it probably wouldnt be fishy, since i didnt actually take a class for this test.
would they have any way of knowing?

I don’t think I did so great on my DBQ. For my Change Over Time, I chose Latin America. I talked about how the religions were polytheistic that worshipped gods such as the sun god and various other gods of nature. I then told how the religions involved bloody sacrifices. I wrote that when the Europeans arrived, they were forced to convert to Christianity, and how many Native Americans were killed. To finish the essay, I said how a large portion of today’s Christians reside in Latin America, and how the future of Christianity heavily depends on Latin America. It took up like one and a half to two pages. Will that get a decent grade?

@I3auer your essays look really good and looks like you had all the evidence you need, the only thing is that I didn’t see anything about the Caribbean in the ccot and that would mean you didn’t adress the ‘entire’ prompt…

OH MY GOODNESS YOU’RE RIGHT! I basically just talked about everything as a whole . . . oh no :frowning: Well, there’s a max of a six :(

dolee12

The Gupta Empire was actually quite small and decentralized.

I know I am borderline 4/5 so I am so scared for the results :frowning: I did amazing on the multiple choice…I think 5 wrong or less but 10 at the most. I’m scared for the essays though. On the DBQ, I forgot POV! I had MV though.

On my other two essays I feel like I had a few good details but instead of a listing a lot I just elaborated on the few details…and I think I may have been a little repetitive.

I am so good at history…I messed up on the essays though, so I’m scared.

I am terrible at the last 2 essays always, but MC is easy for me… However, I never have any idea what to write about for the last two, do you think I can get a 5??

How many questions did you guys omit? There was only one MC that i omitted and i had completely had noooooooooooooo idea what the answer was. (dealt with african products)

@cortana431 I also ommitted one but it was not that question, I actually knew the answer to that :P

…asdfghjkl; eh.

I didn’t know the answer to that one either! Now I don’t feel so dumb, if I’m not the only one. Most of the others I could get it down to two choices, I think I only omitted four.

Would have been wiser to briefly mention more details than to elaborate on a select few details.

Does anyone know when or how we will get our scores?

You will probably get them in mid July by mail, though I know you can get them earlier by phone if you pay for it.

@Cortana: ^ By mail in the second or third week of July. You can call on July 1st and get your scores by phone for a fee of $8 (see your Student Pack for the telephone number and details).

I’ve been dreading this, but is it possible to acquire a 4 if I misread the three essay questions?

For the DBQ, I thought it asked to compare cotton textile industries, not their methods, so I grouped as PERCEPTION OF CLERGY, PERCEPTION OF LABORERS, AND NONBIASED. Yes, it’s horrible.

For CCOT, I didn’t read the ‘religious’, so I did beliefs as in religious, and practices in general.

For CC, I didn’t read ‘politically’ and compared generally.

Do you think I can still manage a 4?

@EddieAP yes it is possible… First off, hope you did good of the MC, and then hope you earned some points on the essays. the averages for most essays are only 2 or 3 points so if you were able to manage some points, then you might be okay! Its looks like you could be okay on the CCOT as long as you referenced some parts of religion in it (and in your thesis) Same with the C&C, as long as political is in there somewhere you may have earned some points. Just hope for the best!

I’m pretty sure I did amazingly in the MC, I found it to be a stroll in the park. As for CCOT, I did mention the centralized Christianity, and in the C&C, I discussed governmental policies, and law codes.

I wrote about the same exact thing you did! Anyways, I think you’ll be fine. I’m mainly worried whether providing really crappy examples (Latin America countries having Christianity as their official religion, people visiting the Basillica) counts as continuity.

Anyways, I do not know why I keep thinking I did bad on the MC. I guess it was because there were a lot of questions on like pre-Sumerian times?

alright so my

DBQ: I sort of grouped them into regions and I don;t know if I am going to get points for that :frowning: But my thesis was something along the lines of “While India and Japan both relied on cheap labor for their cotton industries Japan relied more heavily on women.” I wrote a lot about that and asked for a document explaining why so many more women worked in Japan and added a few predictions as to why that may be. Also I did POV by talking about the doc from an industrialist and that of a Buddhist priest and how the industrialist ignored poor working conditions because he wanted to produce cotton and unlike the buddhist pries had little concern for the wellbeing of the workers. Does that count as 2 POVs? Also I am relying on my DBQ so can someone tell me how it is sounding so far?

CCOT: I talked maingly about colonization. The continuity was that some areas remained polythesitc and held on to their tribal beliefs. And the change was that some were converted to Christianity. not many onther people talked about this so I was wondering if I am way off?

COMP. this went really bad for me. I did Han and gupta and my thesis was something like “While both societies political structure was based on the empires dominant religion their differing religious beliefs produced very different systems.” I talked about sati though and I am pretty sure now that Gupta outlawed it. I also talked about the civil service exam.

Anyway from what I have put above can some kind people give me an estimate on what kind of scores I can expect for the essays?
