so..........

ah yes, this means we can talk about the essay questions?

I recommend you do not.
To be precautious, wait till CollegeBoard officially posts the FR on their website

World History has been desensitivized.

what were some usable continuities/changes for China 100-600 C.E.?

I'd say confucianism, daoism, and trade as continuities.

change: expanded borders?, change in dynastic rule...

crap... i lied sooooo bad...

continuities: continuity of centralized government, treatment of women, examination meritocracy system
change: level of influence on neighbors, introduction of buddhism

hows this?

what did u guys put for the cot?? ok well i did china and russia and like, i put about communism and stuff but i forgot the leaders.... grrrr. is that kinda bad? also for the dbq how did u guys group the documents. i put positive and negative effects but i think i put the wrong documents in the wrong category. feedback plz!

for the dbq... i grouped them 1.)those that describe effect on china
2.) those that describe effect on europeans 3.) something else

DBQ:
I wanted to group as

1) Economic Positive for home country
2) Economic Negative for home country
3) Social

Then, I changed it up a bit to:
1) Effect on lower-classes
2) Effect on higher-classes
3) Effect on outsiders

Then I finally grouped by country because my mind went blank for 10 mins. :(

how would 1 false statement affect a cot essay?
it was in my thesis btw too cries

That's ok, I grouped by country as well. I don't think it really matters as long as you group them somehow, and then tie it together.

What did you guys put for changes in Rome?

Rome: Christianity, Byzantine.

Pax Romana -> unrest -> civil wars -> split into West and East -> Constantine -> Christianity is official -> barbarians sack Rome -> ottoman turks capture Constantinople

I basically put before around 400, rome had a distinct culture, was imperial empire, more powerful then any country, they also accomplished feats in engineering, I mentioned colloseums, roads, aqueducts. Then for change I mentioned luxury trade from china, urbanization, less loyalty to rome because of mercenaries to fight barbarians. I mentioned Christianity. Then I mentioned how when the barbarians invaded, Latin culture was replaced by Germanic culture, I mentioned architecture as an example, and how roman architecture wouldn't be revived until around 1000 years later. And thats basically it.

EDIT; I mentioned Pax Romana too.

That's a great essay. I wish i thought of all those examples. I basically re-stated my thesis many times in my essay. Wrote how the Hellenic culture went from being dominant and influential to being less influential due to the rise of trade and whatnot. Christianity was a big thing, I mentioned the move from strong leadership to weaker leadership. Told how barbaric tribes influenced the unity of the empire (did not mention their cultural influence though :(). And that was basically my essay (mentioning the continuity of the empire in the East, but with less power and distinction).

I messed up my dates for Rome...uggh I put it fell in the 600s...
But my changes were that:
initially slavery was successful, but it wound up hindering Rome
Class conflicts, tried to fix with 12 tablets, wound up destorying Rome
Centralization, as the empire grew became too centralized with dictators etc. This went against their earlier local authonomy.
Also discussed the east rejection of Christianity.
Does this sound okay?

The DBQ was definetly pretty weird. We never talked about the silver trade. My three points were:
-Based around mercantilism--this economic theory forced expansion/subordination of Indians.
-Led to cultural contact (ie: Chinese luxuries in Europe)
-This era helped link all of the economies of the world.

For the Revolutions I picked Russia and China. I basically just went through each one and sporadically made comparisons and contrasts. Some included: Russia tried to face the US head on with arms/space race/modernization. China was more indirect-->funding SE Asian commies. Both Revolutions two fold (Russia-Imperial-Communist-Republic) China-Imperial-Nationalist-COmmunist.

DBQ:
Inflation
Encomienda system
Connection

CC:
Both the Chinese and Russian revolutionaries eventually failed. Lenin was never able to establish the global Marxist communist state. The Nationalist Sun Yat-sen failed to create a stable government.

Russian revolution more professional and driven by a political ideology than the nationalist revolution in China.

Both successfully overthrew the declining governments (Provisional and Qing).

some other stuff.
