I took AP global for two years, but unfortunately, the first year went to waste. I'm 90% comfortable with the material taught this year (which is basically 1700 onward), and I'm planning to take the AP global test in may. I'm also planning to take the SAT 2 for it. Would it be redundant to have world history ap AND sat 2? I'm thinking that the more sat 2/ap's you have, the better your application will look..but I'm not sure.

If you’re taking an AP course and getting an “A” or “B” in it, you should absolutely take the subject test for that subject. Why? Because if you’re doing that well in the AP course, the SAT subject test should be like a walk in the park by comparison; in other words, you’ll ace it! Some colleges will want to see ALL your standardized test scores, while others may let you choose the ones you want to submit.

Okay, thanks! Does anyone know how hard the sat 2 world history is? And hows the curve for it?

It’s not very hard… Just know the history and specifics.

Thank you! How’s the curve for it?

I took it last year and it seemed to be a lot of quotes on it. The test is very specific unlike the AP exam so watch out for that.

The test is no walk in the park. One question I specifically remember had to do with naming the country that a nobel prize winner came from. the name was asian and they gave you 5 asian countries; the same question appeared in the barrons practice book, and the reason it gave for the answer was “clearly not china, vietnam, or laos, and the name has too many syllables to be a japanese name, so it must be burmese.” lolwut
