NOT for AP. For the SAT Subject Test (no essays, all MC)?
I need more scores to boost my application. For those of you who’ve taken World History, do you think I can learn it in 24 days?

P.S. I self-studied AP Euro and AP U.S., the exams were a total breeze (5’s in both). And I heard SAT II is easier than AP, so… Thoughts?

U seem capable enough but idk haven’t taken the sat subject test so idk. Sorry but good luck!

I haven’t taken the SAT II World History exam, but knowing European history is a major PLUS for AP World History. US history? Not as much.

The SAT subject exams and AP exams share questions as my handy REA AP Euro Crash Course book implies - the author analyzed not only past AP exams, but also scoured SAT II World History exams for any questions related to European history.

24 days? Go for it. Get a good book. I only used the Princeton Book for AP World last year and I received a 5. Just skip all the European parts and your left with significantly less to study ;). Other books to consider include 5 Steps to a 5 for AP World History.

And remember, your SAT II scores don’t have to be forwarded to colleges, as is the case with AP scores. For $10 dollars an exam, why not? It’s not as if your paying $80 something for an AP exam :p.

Heck, I’m taking the SAT II World History online practice test. Out of 22 questions, I got 21 right, and 9 related directly to AP European History (1450 - present). There’s questions about Machiavelli, mercantilism, Herbert Spencer … sometimes being Euro-centric can be beneficial :P!!!

The non-Euro ones included a question about the Maya. I used some common sense for that question and knowledge from elementary school when I studied Columbus and the Americas and colonization for about 5 years straight.

Another one was about the yin-yang symbol and what it meant. Please … anyone with a modicum of intelligence can get this question right by looking at the answer choices :D.

One about the Silk Road and what its purpose was … I hope this is easy ;). Another one about the Great Leap Forward in China - I hope you know this. Hint: rapid industrialization.

Wow, thanks! You were extremely helpful, I think I’m going to do it :)

(Congrats on your AP World)
