So I’m about to attempt to get a world record for the fastest mile while juggling. The official name of the sport is “joggling”. How much would that help, if at all, on an application if I beat the time of 4:42?
Probably not much at all. This is an interesting hobby, but it is not going to get you admitted anywhere that you weren’t already a better than decent candidate for.
I will disagree and say that colleges also look for diversity. Obviously, someone who can beat the world record while juggling is quite a feat, and a 4:42 mile time is also extremely fast. Most of all, it’s a world record, even though it’s joggling…
You might not get into harvard with a 3.0 but if you have a world record and if you’re in the range, having the record will tip you over the edge.
I agree with the above. Then again, it does depend on so many other things. What types of colleges? What are your stats? If there a lot of applicants at your level, it is possible this quirky thing could tip the scale in your favor, but probably only at a college that likes to be able to claim they have x student who does this, and y student who does that.
At any rate, if you break the record, you are going to list it,right? So I guess you will find out when decisions are released.
Wow, so interesting. I think it will definitely make for an interesting college essay.
If you can run a mile that fast while juggling you’d be in line for a track scholarship.
^ Pretty impressive.
