no... UMD college park is ranked above georgetown, and stanford's not even in the top 10.

this list is so wrong. BU should not be that high and neither should UMass. If Smith College can make the list, where is Amherst College, Williams College and all those? How is BC not on here?

I posted the source on here so you dont think it is my opinion. I dont agree with it either.

Wow..Univ of Hong Kong > Stanford and Hong Kong has 3 universities in the top-60. I am so proud of my hometown but feeling stupid, having paid $$$ to study in the US.

It looks legit until after rank 16.

Do you think this is accurate?

[/quote]

No. UChicago should be higher

This is an interesting list, but some of the rankings are not reasonable. For example, the University of Georgia deserves to be ranked higher in light of a few of the universities, such as ASU, ranked ahead of it. Is Boston College on this list? What other schools are missing? Syracuse University? The list is not bad until after the top 50, although this doesn't mean that I agree with the top 50.

stupid list..

This list is really bad.

I'm pretty sure the variable that they're using is amount of research, which skews the rankings, giving favor to, for example, large state schools who do tons of research, but aren't really that great of schools.

Obviously amount of research is not a good variable to rank undergraduate schools on.

No, Berkeley should be higher since this is mainly a grad school ranking...same with Stanford.

The wildcats are at the bears' heels. ;)

That's really stupid. Hopkins is ranked higher than Stanford w-t-f

I know, Sam. Mildcats are pretty fast...:)

*Are public colleges

This is a much better list in my opinion.

both lists are pointless. i find rankings per major to be much more useful.

Man that list is one of the worst lists ive seen (the original)..... In no way shape or form should Arizona state university be in the top 100 U.S universities, maybe top 150, but damn it was just awful to look at

Washington univ in st louis should be higher!

This ranking has been discussed on another thread...it tried to rank all the world universities together and came up with some bizarre results -- Stanford and Berkeley being ranked lower than McGill and Oxford. BU higher by a whole lot than Georgetown. It falls apart internationally and within the US. It sounds like it was made up by some very random brainstorming.
