<p>WorldTeach</a> - Long-term Volunteer Teaching Opportunities Abroad</p>
<p>Anyone have any experience with this program? Heard anything about the program? I'm thinking about doing one of the programs in Africa or Latin America next summer.</p>
<p>D joined directly out of undergrad and is currently in South America. She also applied to TFA and Peace Corps - she liked the travel component and length of service with WorldTeach better than these other choices. She is currently in country orientation and will travel to her site in a few weeks. From a parent’s perspective - I would say WT is a very good organization; provided appropriate support and information. They also are rated very favorably by Charity Navigator as a well run nonprofit.
Since you are at Harvard - you should be able to gain insight directly as they are affiliated with the Kennedy School of Government.
