WORRIED 2010er...

anybody from NH in here know if they are going to Cornell Days in april?

what are cornell days?

its like...an orientation for those accepted for 2010? i think. please, someone correct me if im mistaken. but you get a host person and you get to go around to their classes and basically see what its like to be a cornellian

oh that sounds awesome...i hope i can go although i'm all the way in arizona!!! guess ill beg the parents...i hope i'm put with a cool host too...i thought they also took you on tours and everything?

i am! i'm not from NH, but i can't wait.

How's the rooming situation during Cornell Days? Do you take your family with you? Do you stay in the Statler Hotel or room with someone?

i know my mom will want to come, she's never seen cornell and won't be able to take me to orientation so she'll demand to be there...but i think we'll just stay at my uncle's lake house on cayuga lake. i think its just an hour drive

well im wondering if any one would be driving to cornell from NH...

also would we be expected to stay with our parents if they bring us up?!? i really dont wanna spend 3 nights with my dad in the statler, much rather party.

Oh I talked to a current Cornell student and he said that usually you go there, do cornell day stuff, sleep over at a cornell student's dorm, and go home the next day. Or... you can go there, do cornell day stuff, and go back.

Is it worth it to travel from Cali for that? I'm having second thoughts about Cornell days now.

well i kinda wanna see how the night life is...idk how practical it would be to come all the way from cali for it tho... =/

"well i kinda wanna see how the night life is...idk how practical it would be to come all the way from cali for it tho... =/"

I can answer that. It'd be impractical. You'll find out when you get up there!

yea...true. im glad i can go up. ill be so bored at my school by april :(

"yea...true. im glad i can go up. ill be so bored at my school by april"

do you live in nyc? if so what school?

hahah, figured. Oh well... guess I won't see Ithaca until August...

Cornell days: get to know cornell.

The main purpose is for RD students to get a feel for the university. Many ED kids come too. You sleep in a student's dorm room, to get an idea of what the life is really like. You can go to their classes and stuff. You are not allowed to go to frats and parties, so of course you WILL :D unless you get an anal host that is, but in that case, just tell them you are "meeting a friend and will be back late." Don't go alone though, find some other pre-frosh you know and go with them and their chill host.

so yeah: classes, dorms, parties (illegally), the whole life. It's cool.

Oh yeah, no need to bring the parents (don't). Even if they can't make orientation/move in. there's "first year family weekend" where many many parents come visit about a month into the academic year. They can visit then. It's your college, not theirs, and you should probably pick which one you like best on your own and without too much influence from mom n dad.

wish it was that easy to tell my parents off but they wont let me fly up to ny without them because they're overprotective like that and they're moving to the philippines so they won't ever come to the college for any family weekends (thank god!!!)

hahaha (10 characters)

wait so sparty, can we just...dtch los padres? there isnt anything for them to do right? because my dad needs to bring me up, but idk wat hes gonna do. i dont wanna spend the night with him!!! yikes

if Cornell Days is in April...i could come...bec my final exams finish in March...
Do they give provisions for accomodation also for parents?

i'm lost what does the '(10 characters)' mean? I see yall do that all the time
