So I'm worried about my inconsistent AP scores so far. I'm a rising senior, planning to apply this fall. My AP scores from my sophomore and junior years are 2 5's, 2 3's and 1 score of 2. I know you just self-report AP scores when you apply but my question is whether I should report any scores at all? In my school system you have to take the AP tests, so it won't really work to report some scores and not all of them (it would be obvious and not very honest, I think, to choose to report only the good ones). Should I report them all and take my chances or just not report any at all?

Report them all except the 2.

^ Sound advice. On the other hand, a student from my school reported a score of 2 and was accepted to MIT, so reporting it won’t be the end of the world.

That’s because APs don’t really matter in terms of admissions…

A bad AP score will discount a high class grade. A good AP score will make a bad class grade look better. AP scores have a lesser impact than SAT1/2’s but they will not be completely ignored.

Yeah, Dean J had a quote somewhere of “if you submit it we will look at it”
I don’t think UVA can tell when you have taken an AP test, I took 5 AP’s my senior year and only 1 test so how would they know I didn’t take all 5 tests and only report 1?
