Worried about being a midyear transfer

Ok, so now that the excitement of being admitted has worn off......the fears have started to kick in.....I was hoping that I could get some advice. 1. Where in the heck should I live? 2. I am really freaking out about making friends and stuff....coming in midyear. any advice on that front?

Im in the same situation as you. Im just going to commute for the spring semester and than move downtown next fall. As for friends, you should probably know some people at UT already and if not, no worries…the school is huge so your bound to meet people no matter what

I was a midyear transfer during my sophomore year, which was about 2 years ago. Get involved in some clubs to meet new people. Also, depending on your major and what year you are in, you might be in classes with a bunch of the same people. That’s how I made most of my friends.
As for housing, just start looking around right now. A lot of places around here do pre-leasing. Personally I waited too long and didn’t find a place until the week that school started, which was really stressful.
