I am white, male, and headed to my senior year. I have a 1700 SAT and am trying for a 1900-2000. my GPA is 2.9. I finished a class through 10-12 with a D but apparently other things make up for the class so i can apply. i live in LA. CSUN is my HS’s local school. Do i have any shot at CPP? CSUSB? CSUN? SJSU? SFSU? CSULB? CSUF? Also, any other schools/cal states i should look into? Thanks!
Oh and I have taken APUSH and EP euro, taking AP psych and AP lit this year. Also took honors chem
For most majors at most CSUs, applicants are ranked by a pretty simple index. Read about it here:
https://secure.csumentor.edu/planning/high_school/elig_index_calculator.asp
CSU GPA*800 + SAT (M&R only) = Eligibility Index
Since CSUN is your local school, you’ll only need a 2900 to qualify. Not enough data above to calculate your index but, you are probably above 2900
The required index varies somewhat by year and major but, in round numbers, here’s what you need to be competitive at the other campuses you list:
San Bernardino is also a 2900.
CPP for a non-engineering maor is around 3300
SFSU us about the same.
Fullerton 3700
Long Beach 3900
SJSU varies widely by major but, last year’s result is here:

Thank you!
