Well, I was recently going through my report cards, and I remembered that I've gotten like three Cs my high school career, two last year (rough last MP) and one in like freshmen or sophmore year. I have a 3.9 W and like a 4.4 this semester, I'm thinking I should wait until I at least get my first semester grades to apply (should be in like two weeks). I'm already applying EA, my Old sats were 1360 or 70, and I'm hoping my new ones should be about 1400-1450+.

Just making this post to get some assurance, I know its CC but someone out there must have gotten in with a c or two on their report card. Lemme know guys.

It's been awhile so I don't quite remember exactly but I think I got a couple C's in AP Spanish and APUSH junior year and had 4ish W, 1450 SAT and I got into Marshall. Hopefully this gives you some optimism about your chances.

Your admission will be based on your whole "package" so if you have a great application other than your C's, you may be ok. Also, USC does look at your freshman year but they kind of give you a break on your freshman year- especially if you have an upward trend.

The average unweighted GPA is 3.8- what is your unweighted GPA?

I got a D junior year, but it was only a one time thing and then I got straight A's with 6 ap's senior year so shrug take it with a grain of salt. Upward trends are always good...although I would be more concerned about the SAT score..

Wait... 1400 on the NEW SAT? O_O I'm hoping not.

If your W is 3.9... hm. Yeah I'm curious about UW too.

I had C from AP science/math classes because I transferred in middle of the year and couldn't understand the concepts (I basically missed 2 months of schooling and couldn't catch up) I didn't explain it to USC but I'm still here... And after that I had 6 AP classes my senior year too. They probably knew my weakness in math already because I managed to make A's in everything else besides math every year. Good thing I applied as an art major (wrote my entire essay based on that too..)

Your C's shouldn't be a killer, but your SAT score (if its the new SAT score) and your overall GPA might be....

And it doesn't matter when you apply because you'll have to send in your new senior 1st semester grades anyway. Just make sure you try your best first semester because you want to show them you are improving, not doing worse!
