<p>My gpa and test scores are in the mail. I should be able to raise my gpa to a 3.9 from a 3.87 by the end of highschool and according to practice tests my ACT score should be between 29 and 33. I'm currently taking 3 ap classes and 1 honors class (out of 5 total classes) and plan to take at least 4 ap classes senior year. I think I'm on the right track but I'm extremely worried about my lack of extra curricular activities and awards. I'm a junior now so I have time to improve.
Current ECs...
Nation Honors Society (junior and senior year)
Lacrosse (will probably do for 4 years if I make varsity this year, 2 years at minimum)
Theater Production (Freshman Year)
Red Cross Club (Junior and Senior year)
NAACP scholar (really meaningless because is given to ANY black kid with a gpa over 3.2)
I volunteered at a science center a tiny bit at the end of this summer
Member of a Business magnet at my school (includes internship senior year)
Things I plan on doing...
Starting an Amhesty International Chapter at my school (has been quite difficult to find a teacher so this might not happen)
Co-founding Indie Music club (I doubt this has value)
Getting a permanent volunteer position at the University of Michigan children's hospital
Volunteering much more at the science center I volunteered at last summer. </p>
<p>What other extracurriculars can I do to improve my chances next year?
I'm looking at schools like Upenn (ED) , Columbia, Carnegie Mellon, Barnard, NYU, and University of Michigan.<br>
Also, if I improved my ecs what do you think my admissions chances would be at schools like the ones mentioned above.</p>
