So my father and brother bought me a laptop for my 18th birthday. I had no clue what they were getting me, so I really didn't have an opinion on it. I don't mind though because I LOVE my laptop.

On the other hand, my laptop is a 17 inch Dell. That being said, I'm now starting to worry that it's TOO big to take to college with me. I really thought I'd be taking it to class with me to take notes [I take notes on the computer more than I do by hand since my hand cramps up easily when I write by hand because I have carpel tunnel]. But, it seems to be TOO BIG OF A LAPTOP! =/

Now I'm just slightly freaking out. Any advice on what to do? There's no way I can exchange it or anything. I'm also living in Wall, so I have no idea how big their desks are.

Totally agree with jym. You have exactly what I am typing on now, from Dublin (yes, I am having a pint of Guiness too). My point being I travel a lot and it isn’t so bad. Think of it as exercise.

I do strongly advise you buy a second battery. I find the battery life is not great, especially after a year or so. But if you have back-to-back classes, or even a 3rd one, you will want the spare battery.

Many students use their laptops on their beds, outside, or in the common rooms in the dorms. The desk is a standard size (at least the ones I saw were) – so no worries!
