I don't know what to say. My GPA is really really low. Weighted it's like a 3.9. I'm a junior and my classes this year are so hard and I'm doing really badly. My SAT score is 2310 and my PSAT is 225.
This is what's bringing down my GPA (besides my B's in math): sophomore year i took AP Chemistry. At my school that is THE hardest class there, and it's not weighted 1st semester. I got a C first semester and a B 2nd. 5 on the AP test though.
This year I...don't know. I'm taking 5 AP's but 3 of them I have B's in and ...

Besides that, anyone have advice for me? I study a LOT but my grades are still bad. I studied 6 hours last night for a physics test and I BOMBED it.

The only issues with your application are going to be with your leadership. Your clubs show a ton of different passions. I myself have science bowl, math team, FBLA, mock trial, Spanish Honor Society, and Chemistry League. The makeup of your extracurricular activities show a thin spread. This is damaging because it means that colleges may see you as the exact opposite of passionate. Furthermore, you did not mention your leadership positions. You need at least two and optimally 3 (preferably one outside of school). You do not have any sports but then again neither do a lot of applicants or future applicants (me being one of them). Your PSAT and SAT scores are perfectly within range. The main lackluster element is your GPA. Those Bs on your transcript will hurt. I am also from a super competitive high school. There are straight A students with 6 A.P classes. Colleges do not see how much you study but rather how you perform. IF your AP test scores are consistent 5s then maybe just maybe an admissions officer might overlook your Bs in those specific AP classes. Overall your application seems to lack leadership, a clear passion, and very strong grades. You can still put yourself over the top by attaining the leadership and writing a brilliant essay but in my honest opinion, your chances aren’t wonderful. You definitely have a shot, the being Asian American, having a seemingly undefined passion, and sub par grades is not good. Good luck man. Don’t take this personally its just another Asian sophomore’s opinion.

Everytime I try for a leadership position (Lit Mag, Key Club etc) I get rejected so I don’t know…
and the thing is, I have very bad grades in Science but I do enjoy the subject, thus the science ecs. I also happen to be interested in MUN/law stuff and I have liked writing since I was a little kid, and fiction/poetry writing really is what my passion is, but there really isn’t much ec stuff for that. So because of my interests, my ecs are like that.

I get rejected from leadership too.

Hate popularity contests for those things

hey, i think u have a really good chance bc of ur sat scores…have u decided taking the act test? also, what was ur method of studying or did u take a prep class for your sats?
