Worried About my Future in Finance

So I am currently studying at Michigan State University as a finance student. Last summer, I was rather reckless and (stupidly) got caught with possession of marijuana. I didn't get convicted, but instead got the case "dismissed," and under Michigan's 74-11 act, only certain, non-public background tests will show this case ever happened. Those who would see it include the police, hospitals, FBI, schools, and more. Thing is, I'm now worried about my future (I want to be a financial adviser). I'd love to work for a place like, say, UBS, but I know big firms like this use this kind of test (fingerprint). I love stocks, and don't want my one slip up in life to hold me back. Thanks in advance!

You’re almost certainly not going to get answers here. I’d suggest posting in the Parents Forum.

I really do not think you have to worry too much. One time is no big deal. Don’t let it happen again. You would not be the first on Wall Street caught with marijuana, but you might have to explain it was a one time lapse in judgement. Just learn, these things can ruin all what you have worked for and be smart. I seriously thing it is no big deal.
