Worried about my future

Im currently a Freshman in Highschool. Im just worried about can i get into Harvard. My current GPA is 3.8 and can you guys give any advice like what extracurricular activity should i do? (but Im in a international school so there isn't that much extracurricular activity) also like how much adwards do you need? can someone give any advice :( for all the ways to get into Harvard :)

1) stop focusing on Harvard which has less than a ~3% admit rate for international students.

2) Read this: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/9366944-post1.html</a>. It’s not what you do but who you become.

^love the post above me

You can create your own ECs, you don’t need an organized activity. You need to follow your passions so creating your ECs is a great way to do that.

Keep GPA high and do well on standardized tests.

Don’t model yourself into an ideal Harvard applicant. There isn’t such a thing.
Instead, try your best at everything, participate in EC’s that you actually enjoy, and have fun.
I mean you’re a freshman and you’re freaking about getting into Harvard?!
I guess your attitude could be taken as planning for the future, but I rather think it is premature stress on yourself.

Seriously, have fun and enjoy high school. The four years go by in a blur and you shouldn’t have any regrets about high school.

Best of luck and hoping that you will achieve your Cambridge, MA dreams :)

I think a link to the MIT “Apply Sideways” blog post should be stickied somewhere on CC and everyone applying to HYPS should be required to read it before posting. :-)

Get good grades, do the stuff you love to do, and let the chips fall where they may. There’s no formula to get into Harvard.

^ Actually there is a surefire formula for getting into Harvard. Score 700+ on all SAT sections and 2 SAT IIs, maintain a 3.8+ GPA, and be a recruited athlete.

It works for Princeton too, but not so much at Yale, because they’ve devalued athletics.

Thanks for the good comments :)
