I'm a junior in high school, and I've been stressing about this absurdly low GPA. I understand that a 3.0 isn't horrible depending on your school, but I go to a good school with a lot of overachievers; I'm not even sure I'm in the top 1/4 of my class. Anyway, my biggest target is UGA, as I'm in Georgia. At first I was feeling confident that I had a good chance, but now I'm not so sure after looking at some of the admittance rates for UGA based on GPA.

More information: I got a 2090 (730R, 660M, 700W) on the SAT, and I plan on retaking it so I can get my math score higher. Haven't taken the ACT or SAT II yet. My schedule has been pretty good: I'll have at least 11 APs by the end of high school, 7 of them before senior year. 3 and 5 on the ap tests I've taken, and I should be able to keep that up for the rest. EC wise, I've definitely done some stuff, but I'll only have one officer position by the time I apply for college. What I have done is tutoring every week for a few months at a local elementary school, doing work at an orphanage in India for a short time, raising money for a Haiti earthquake fundraiser, and I'm going to see if I can do some volunteer work at a local hospital. I've done some other small things here and there in school, but those are the major things; not very impressive quantity-wise, I know. So do I have even a decent shot at UGA, or do you think I'll end up going to a lesser school for a while then trying to transfer?
